Location
The chain of 700 islands that make up the Bahamas sits to the north of Cuba and off the Florida coast of America. It extends for about 500 miles. At its closest point, the Bahamas is only 20 minutes flight from Miami.
The warm, shallow waters of the Bahamas are the clearest on earth – astronauts in space have commented on how blue the sea around these islands are, and unsurprisingly, boating is a Bahamian national obsession.
